HAVE LAPTOP ...
... will blog
As soon as Brevin Pritzl passed the ball, Pfeifer knew he had his blog for the week.
A Marquette Basketball fan growing up, when Pfeifer was offered the opportunity to cover and write a weekly blog about Marquette Basketball, he jumped at the chance. From 2014-19, Pfeifer put out a blog every week for iHeartMedia about Steve Wojciechowski's team, commenting on everything from the school's history to detailed play analysis.
The latter was what readers got after Marquette beat their arch rivals, the Wisconsin Badgers, 82-63 at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis. on Dec. 9, 2017. A moment in the game when Brevin Pritzl, a guard for the consistently nationally ranked Wisconsin Badgers, seemed most shaken from all that had happened up until that point that week for the Badgers was one Pfeifer not only caught, but explained up to and through in the blog, archived here.
A witty, detail-oriented thinker with a mind for history and penchant for pop culture references, Pfeifer's writing style can eloquently bounce from serious and delicate to over-the-top and comical. What you won't get is bad grammar, factual errors or anything other than AP style, as Pfeifer is committed to principles of good journalism, even in a time when many put emotion or opinion ahead of quality, depth or substance.
Accordingly, Pfeifer is a respected figure among Milwaukee media. The above picture is from the 2022 WIAA State Football Championships and shows Pfeifer alongside Milwaukee Journal Sentinel writers — and friends — Michael Wittlow, J.R. Radcliffe and Zac Bellman. Whether it be them, longtime TV reporters like Tim Van Vooren and Lance Allen, or the many radio personalities Pfeifer has worked alongside, there's a level of trust in Pfeifer's ability create social media content or fill whatever writing role may be needed for an organization.
Past work has seen the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Marquette University, the Milwaukee School of Engineering, the University of Chicago and the Wisconsin Wolfpack indoor football team all rely upon Pfeifer to write game and event recaps for their websites. Beyond the iHeart Marquette blog, Pfeifer also penned a lifestyle column for the Journal Sentinel about being single before he met his wife, and has blogged for personal use as well. It's difficult to think of bloggers as having decades of experience, given the relative newness of the medium, but Pfeifer has them, with his original sports writings being posted on MySpace's long-since depreciated blogging feature.
Need a few paragraphs? Or more in-depth coverage? Pfeifer can provide it.
