CASE STUDIES
Dan has done PA and music for:

-
Marquette University Olympic sports
-
New Berlin West High School basketball
-
Racine Raiders minor-league football

The three teams call for decidedly different game atmospheres, all of which Dan has created ably:
SET A TONE
Remember your first time attending a big-time sporting event?

You were probably a small child. Row after row of seats, so many lights, the big scoreboard, thousands of people — everything felt huge, right?
Dan Pfeifer remembers attending his first game as a fan. It was a warm, summer afternoon in 1987 and the California Angels were at Milwaukee County Stadium to face the Milwaukee Brewers. "I was five. We emerged from the darkness of the concourse to almost overwhelming bright sun, green grass and music. I was in awe."

The excitement that day evoked — the sights, sounds, and adrenaline rush of rooting for the home team alongside a community and generations of family doing the same — have stayed with Dan his whole life.

As someone now in the industry of sports entertainment himself, Pfeifer has a goal every time he works an event: Create the same sense of wonder from his first game to every fan at the events he works.

"When [Dan Pfeifer] does a game,
he makes it an event."
- STAN ANDERSON, nationally renowned college soccer coach

For Pfeifer, that means bringing the right atmosphere, along with years of preparation, experience, thought and knowledge to the venue. That atmosphere isn't necessarily the same from event to event or moment to moment. But it does mean setting a tone with game ops:

-
PREGAME: Establish an ethereal sound with light, but not sleepy, music, resulting in a rush of energy when ramping up to booming starting lineups and powerful tracks right before the start of the game
-
RALLIES: Keep the crowd going with the thumpingest EDM and rock when the opponent is on the ropes
-
BREAKS: Match and lift the crowd's mood with current pop, clap-along sound effects and organ sounders
-
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Relay important info with concise, clearly worded and voiced PA announcements
-
ADVERTISING: Deliver full value to sponsors with reads, promotions and music to match their marketing

Pfeifer knows a private university with a tradition of academic excellence wants a different atmosphere than a blue-collar, beer-swilling minor-league football crowd that's seen a few regional wrestling promotions. However, he's coordinated the sound for, and pleased, both crowds many times before, as well as all demographics in-between.

The intangible of understanding the feeling an event should evoke is what sets Dan Pfeifer's work apart. Now think for yourself: What do you want your team or event's identity to be? What's the feeling you want to evoke? If you want it to feel bigger, like less of a game and more of an event, Dan Pfeifer can help.

Find out for yourself.
NEW BERLIN
WEST
